WPML Integration

Strange, I published a post on the BD facebook group bringing this subject back and quoting my correspondence with WPML where they called this page: https://wpml.org/plugin/breakdance/
However my post was removed the next day. Is there something serious going on behind the scenes between Soflyy and WPML teams???

Let’s put some pressure on the WPML team, otherwise this will never get done

This thread is now closed, and our official position is as follows.
- Most users building multilingual sites are currently using TranslatePress. Some are using Polylang. We also recommend Weglot.
- We are happy to provide the WPML team the necessary support to create integrations for Breakdance.
Specifically, we will provide APIs, action hooks, filters, docs, etc. as necessary for them to create a high-quality integration between WPML and Breakdance just as they have done for WPML and Elementor.
Basically, whatever they need short of actually coding or hand-holding their development of the integration for them, we are happy to provide.
- The entire chain of emails between me and the WPML regarding the integration team can be viewed here - so please read that before pointing fingers at the WPML team or at us: https://www.loom.com/share/125987e2f6a24e8b9df8c2f7aea73296
- When the WPML team would like us to provide them with what we've promised above, we will re-open this feature.

Louis Reingold: sorry to say but this is a huge disappointment and honestly I can understand why they would not be willing to invest their time and efforts toward integration. I also understand why you would expect the same treatment as the other builders they have provided integration for. At the end of the day its the users that suffer. I guess its fine for you guys to accept that for your customers.

any news ? I contacted them as well 2 days ago and they said they gonna reach out to you Louis Reingold
Louis Reingold
Aggelos Sybacom: I look forward to it. We haven't heard from them yet but it's only been 2 days so let's give them a chance.
We are eager to provide the WPML team with hooks, actions, APIs, and the necessary support to integrate WPM:L with Breakdance - exactly as they have done for Elementor.

After extensive investigation into other multilingual plugins, and discussions with the dev teams of some other multilingual plugins, at this time we continue to recommend Weglot.
Many users also are using TranslatePress successfully with Breakdance.
The official position of the Breakdance team is as follows:
We are happy to provide the teams that develop multilingual plugins for WordPress the necessary support to create integrations for Breakdance.
We will provide APIs, action hooks, etc. as necessary. Basically, whatever these developers need short of actually coding the integration for them, we are happy to do.
Officially, we will continue to recommend Weglot because it works with Breakdance out of the box, and we are happy to recommend any other multilingual plugins that work with Breakdance.

We would love for there to be a WPML integration with Breakdance.
We offered to provide the WPML team with hooks, actions, APIs, and the necessary support to integrate WPML with Breakdance - exactly as they have done for Elementor.
This was discussed as recently as last week.
They refused.
Louis Reingold
False.
Here is WPML's integration for Elementor: https://git.onthegosystems.com/glue-plugins/wpml/wpml-page-builders/-/tree/master/classes/Integrations/Elementor
It was updated as recently as one week ago.

Oxygen: false.
WPML's data and decision making: ask them, don't ask me.
German: I don't speak German, so I can't comment. If what you wrote is the literal translation of what they wrote, we would expect WPML to apologize to us for being misleading.
Our policy is clearly stated above:
We are happy to help the WPML team - we offered to provide the WPML team with hooks, actions, APIs, and the necessary support to integrate WPML with Breakdance - exactly as they have done for Elementor.
They're the ones that said no.
Our policy won't change.
Louis Reingold
Here is the full email chain between us an WPML. You can be the judge. :)
You now have all of the relevant facts, and I won't discuss this further.

Louis Reingold: thanks for the feedback on this topic. I purchased Breakdance from the very first days, as I found it to be an editor with a lot of potential and yet with a fast learning curve for both developers and end customers.
So far I have only used it on one client site and one internal project. I was waiting for further development regarding WPML, so I could start using it in other sites.
I regret that integration with WPML is not possible for the time being. It would be good, because we have a "lifetime" multisite license. But we will explore the alternative with Translatepress, and I really hope there are no incompatibilities with that plugin.
Keep up the great work.

Louis Reingold: Weglot is unbelievable expensive. Our new site barely has content, but we plan to upload a lot of articles, each around 1-2k words. There are currently around 4000 words on the site and it would now cost €29 per month according to weglot's own calculator. I don't even want to think what it would cost after 100 posts...
+ if I cancel my subscription I loose all translated content
+ translation requests are VERY limited

Attila Skyler Magyari: We used weglot just to try, but its way to expensive for what it offers. We always used WPML, but there seems to be a lot of resistance, like here...
Breakdance; just focus on free solutions like indeed translatepress, polylang, etc
Im trying to have breakdance an rank math work things out to create a proper implementation...

Louis Reingold Weglot is exponentially more expensive than the others, so it's not a viable option for most. We need 10 languages, so it would be $299/month.

Any news about WPML good integrations with breakdance ?

There is an Multisite Translation Plugin with pefect deepl.com integration/translations on codecanyon. It creates a multisite for every new language. It cost 50$, thats all and then use Deepl.com for automatic translations. But anyway, breakdance could do the same in any way and it will be a MAJOR buying point if you could implement a perfect translation solution with Breakdance. Everyone need easy translations and it is complicated. This is one of the points why people will leave Elementor and come to Breakdance. You can do marketing on all TOP Translation plugin postings and you will have a very high conversionrate... Louis Reingold

The moment Breakdance will have Translatepress integration, I will use it on production sites. Until then I simply can't, since every client in my region needs at least a 2 language website.
