Christian Strasser
I always work with variable fonts, what’s the issue for you?

Christian Strasser, how do you put them into Breakdance? with custom CSS?
Christian Strasser
S. Steven Maese I just upload it in Preferences > Custom Fonts.
Do I missunderstand your needs?
S. Steven Maese
Christian Strasser you have to select a font weight. A variable font has all the weights built in. You shouldn't select a weight at the font level.
Christian Strasser
S. Steven Maese No you don't have to. I never do it and it works :)
S. Steven Maese
Christian Strasser, I tried and it didn't.
Christian Strasser
S. Steven Maese Did you regenerate the cache in the Breakdance settings after?
Sometimes it’s a bit of a headache (that could be improved).

Christian Strasser, I can't get a variable font file to adapt to different weights or italics versus normal. Whatever I put in the screen (Say Regular/400 and Italic) is what the file stays at. I'm sure I could put into CSS all of the other classes and point to the self hosted file, but that's why I'd like to see an option built into Breakdance to that. Upload one file, let Breakdance know it's a variable font, then have access to all the styles built in.

It works for me, no problem.
