WooCommerce Categories List element
Glenn Jansen
I upvoted this post months ago I think, but isn't it possible to make your own category list using the post loop builder?
If that is the case then how about showing a 'Category list' or 'Categories' element in the list, but when clicked it creates a preformatted post loop builder.
The reason I suggest this is that I sometimes see multiple elements/features in other builders which eventually do the same thing and that clutters the elements list.

Glenn Jansen: I have been unable to make this with the post builder and currently using a shortcode.
I would like the categories to display in a grid with category title and category image. NOT the products for that category.
I.e. Parent categories "Pants, Shoes, Hats, Socks"
For the above I would like to create an "All Categories" page and use the post loop to target all parent categories, so they display as a grid with category title and image.
When user clicks on the tile image for "Pants" for example I can then use another post loop to target "Pants" and show child categories of "Pants" such as "Jeans", "Dress Pants" etc.
Then when user clicks "Jeans" I will take them to the actual products of "Jeans".

isn´t it possible to build something like this with a global element?

I would like to see a grid-style layout that could include only parent categories on one page (with images, product counts, etc), with each parent linking to a page with it's subcategories, again in a grid layout with images, counts, etc) , and each of those linking to each individual subcategory and it's products, and then of course on to the single product pages.

The Woo Widget element isn't flexible enough, imo. Definitely need a dedicated element for this with options to display as list, grid, etc.
This has come up on Facebook multiple times recently:
A more generic taxonomy / category element that can be used with any post type would be nice too.

Sanjay Panikkar: Any good examples of elements like this for other builders?

Louis Reingold: Examples:
Typically, this element has category image, category title, count of products (or posts) in category, category description and button.

Louis Reingold: Is there a roadmap for this? This is a pretty useful feature.
Helmi
John Marrington: yeah I am waiting for this feature for so long too. Is it possible to release this in 1.6 Louis Reingold?

Helmi: please vote for it in the dedicated thread for the taxonomy loop element if you haven’t already.
