Minicart widget definitely need some updates
  • option of adding a coupon code (also already visible widget for that in the checkout)
  • option of showing shipping fee
  • progress bar for free shipping and free products
  • global block above the button to checkout
  • maybe some option for upsell/cross-sell in the minicart, although the global block should be able to handle that
90% of the up to date stores use minicarts. Everything happens there.
